Dezert
The fashion brand Dezert has been established in 2016 in Slovakia. Our work is original in its author's design inspired by architecture and industrial design. Dezert seeks to find ways to innovative technologies and processes, as well as to materials with unusual properties. The products are represented by a minimalist approach enriched by work with interesting details. Our 'desserts' are created as collections in limited numbers, though they are open to be mixed up with ingredients of our clients to their taste.
The major inspiration of the collection is a bobbin lace horse that my grandmother made and a photograph of my grandfather from the time of his childhood in which he is depicted with his favourite toy - a rocking unicorn. In the collection I work with the symbolism of an unicorn and with the title ,,I believe in unicorn'' that emphasizes the optimistic and yet untouched children's world.
I place importance on the connection of innovative procedures and technologies (by a 3D software) with an old craft. A 3D model of my grandfather was created in the ,,Wireframe'' image in accordance to the photograph. It was consequently embroided and became the main symbol of the collection. This 3D model was created by various applications, hand embroidery and by creating a plastic textile head of an unicorn with a hand embroided plexi-glass.
