Kai Raffael Nesselrath
Born and raised with a very artistic background, Kai Raffael grew up in Rome, enjoying the variety of its different artistic, social, and scenic environments. His close contact with art has provided him with a passion and a love for all sorts of forms, colours, and styles from different periods that he applies day by day in his work. After studying at the Roman Academy of Fine Arts as well as taking courses at Central Saint Martins in London he graduated with his final fall/winter collection at the Polimoda International Institute for Fashion Design and Marketing transforming his roots and enthusiasm into a straight and evolving concept. Inviting to remarks and for collaborations.
Untitled is all about letting go, from being enclosed and restrained to opening up and being free, a very personal theme with big inspirations from contemporary art and the designer's personal background.
The collection tries to question the feeling of letting go, translating this into garments. It lets the pieces go their own ways and directions creating volumes and drapes that are part of the transition.
