Zuzanna Kwapisz
Zuzanna Kwapisz (b. 1991), born and lives in Warsaw. She graduated the International School of Costume and Fashion Design – majoring Fashion Design with distinction in 2015. Her first diploma collection "LAG" was presented at a 10th anniversary gala of the school and was awarded, among others, by LPP, Mariusz Przybylski, Paprocki & Brzozowski or Lamode.info fashion portal. She was twice a finalist Fashion Designer Awards, she took first place during the XII edition of the OFF FASHION KIELCE as well as she was in the strict final of the XXII and XXIII edition of Golden Thread. Her second collection "Fabric collages," was presented at the Fashion Stage at Open'er Festival in Gdynia and had a premiere during FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland in the Studio block and has been appreciated very flattering reviews.
Collage, which may be associated with a colorful diversity, in the case of this collection was an inspiration for the form itself silhouettes. The most important here was the works of Sharon Etgar, who in addition to painting and drawing is the author of numerous collages which are also made from fabrics. Referring to his works I used asymmetry and overlapping pieces of fabric.
Specific forms are also associated with the work of Canadian artist Philppe Moulaine, especially with ceramic their part - simple geometric shapes in the original release. Another inspiration for the final appearance of the silhouettes were old uniforms for workers created from jeans. They were transferred to the collection, creating monochromatic, modern silhouette.
The colors are fairly conservative, and many silhouettes monochrome. It can distinguish white, shades of blue and garnet. These colors are associated in turn with works by Polish painter Gregory Pabel who uses those colors in a large part of his paintings. More emphasis was placed on the form and structure - double-breasted fastening, special collars, pockets and belts.
Fabrics that have been used in most: cotton with elastane, two kinds of jeans - smooth and fringed, cupro, thin knit sweaters, including one, as well as real leather.
