Cristina Torrent
Cristina Torrent is an spanish designer who started studying architecture. When finishing her studies, she turned into fashion, her real passion. She has studied fashion design between London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins in London and LCI Barcelona-Felicidad Duce in Barcelona, where she has recently graduated. Her first collection Ginza, was presented in the last edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion SS17. Because of her background, she understands the design process both through the 2D and 3D, to generate interesting and conceptual volumes, studying the patterns along with flat drawings. She has work with recognized designers in brands such as Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and Manuel Bolaño.
Following my background as architecture student, my first collection is inspired by the façades of the japanese architect Toyo Ito. It is conceptual collection in which I wanted to experiment with different materials such as pvc, fishing net or bubble wrap in contrast with delicate fabrics such as silk crepe and organza, to represent strong volumes in front of other light garments.
The result along with accessories is a minimal collection of architectural pure volumes.
