Gyuwon Jeong
Gyuwon Jeong was born in South Korea. After completing high school in Korea, she attended fashion school in Tokyo. She dropped out the school and then move to San Francisco. She graduated from Academy of Art University with a BFA in Menswear Design 2015. Her first collection'Gangster Collection' showed in AAU graduation fashion show and exhibition: Print Matters (International Fashion Showcase) at Korean Cultural Centre in London.
Gangster collection inspired by artist Maimouna Guerresi’s artworks, Ndebele tribe and Cholombiano from Monterrey, Mexico. Oversize silhouette idea from Cholombiano’s outfit, braid detail inspired by Ndebele’s accessory and their mural art used as color story.
Designer combined these three different inspirations to creates Gangster collection. This collection is for vegan gangster who doesn't like violence. Her gangster guy drives Hummer with gangster rap music, but his secret hobby is collect toy figures and plays Le-go at home.
