Vivian Wong, a Hong Kong based designer, is the founder of VIV.W. She graduated from Raffles Design Institute (Hong Kong) in 2016 VIV.W is a ready-to-wear fashion label aimed at producing unique garments with a sophisticated vision. We believe in quality and precise craftsmanship of garments, to produce long-lasting pieces for our customers. The designs are easy to mix-and-match into our wearer’s current wardrobe. Our clothes balance originality and functionality. We create innovative designs that focus on subtle plays of colour blocking, graphic print designs and embellishment details. The aesthetic of VIV.W finds the equilibrium between detail and simplicity in design, embodying a fresh and sensitive modernity.
This collection was inspired by black comedy film called Wild Tales, it is written and directed by Damián Szifron from Argentine. The film composed six stories in different emotions and presented in a humour way, apathy, resentment, contempt, paranoid and morality struggles are the keys element when people navigating their life.
The film captured the situations in today’s societies; people undergo the difficulties of life. The sense of powerlessness, the savage madness, and conspiracy brings out that people were suffered to get a balance between self and fake-self, the circumstances of the situation is linked to predictable behaviour patterns or irrational response.
This collection captured the characteristics of the rhapsody of pressure and the hysterical personalities, which brings out the concept of enjoying life and lives a life without all the concerns and troubles. ‘Interlude’ is a collection balance femininity, playfulness and humour that empower dresser to wear their confidence and feels unique through textural fabrications, colour, sequins and fringing details.
