Capsule is the premiere gathering of the finest apparel and accessories brands from around the world. More than a tradeshow, the brands who participate in Capsule make up a community that is shaping the future fashion landscape. In our case, different really is better.

Capsule launched in 2007 as the brainchild of fashion consultancy BPMW to develop a global network of like-minded people who conceptualize, create, desire, and buy the clothes that epitomize a new vision of forward progress. Artisans, strategists, devotees, and style leaders converge on Capsule in three cities, ten times per year.

Capsule is known for its global curation of the world’s most directional designers and the brands that participate in Capsule are among some of the most prestigious, respected and coveted fashion labels. Our team scours the world hand selecting only the best of the best – from the independent emerging designers, to more established labels who push the envelope of design, craft manship and quality.

Thanks to our strong edit and distinct point of view Capsule is a favorite of many of the world’s most respected retailers in search of what’s new and next.

The Capsule shows are small and intimate, and a sense of community is felt throughout the shows. Our focus is to make the job of the retailer simple, by presenting the most compelling brands, in a relaxed, businesslike environment.

A new trade show for British brands to expand into the United States.

London, UK 21 December: CMC (California Market Center) hosts a number of prominent, large industry trade shows during Market, attracting targeted resources for buyers to shop. In a recent survey to its LA Fashion Market database, 97% of the respondents showed a strong desire for a British trade show, and would attend. “Many US buyers want to trade in sterling post Brexit as the rates are more in their favour - a great benefit for businesses wanting to export to the US now. They want British brands with provenance and a strong brand story. This is why we have created Source British" says Olivett Asare, Event Director.

Source British is a new trade show taking place in Los Angeles, California at the LA Fashion Market from 13 – 14 March 2017. The show has many British brands confirmed, and is co-located with LA Fashion Market offering a springboard to British heritage and contemporary brands across categories like apparel, gifts, crafts, home, footwear and accessories to access the US market and meet 4,000 buyers and distributors from across the West Coast, Mid West and wider USA.

Research from entering the US retail market by Martin Harrison shows “US consumers are hungry for British style, though awareness of most British brands is still low”. Paul Alger, Director of International Business Development – UKFT confirms “The US is a major market for UK companies but many US buyers do not like to travel. It is, therefore, vitally important for UK brands to invest time and attention on the US market”.

The LA Art Show embraces its role as the regions preeminent art fair and emerges as the annual civic celebration of the visual arts. The record breaking enthusiasm surrounding our 2016 edition surpassed all expectations and encourages our team to deepen our roster of galleries and pursue new exciting art programming. The evolving role of the art fair as a fulcrum for art commerce, connecting galleries, artists, curators, and collectors drives our marketing and planning. The art fair world is expanding and we are proud to be one of the world’s largest and longest running events with 150,000 square feet of exhibition space and close to 70,000 attendees this past year. As Los Angeles takes its place as a vanguard of the global art scene, our ability to adapt and evolve to meet the art market’s current trends is vital.

Produced by Kim Martindale since its inception, The LA Art Show entered its third decade with an expanded curatorial team, harnessing their knowledge and experience to drive the International focus and content development of the fair. We partnered with galleries and non-profits to feature bold new art performances and continued to expand out Littletopia and Street Art sections both at the fair and at off-site events to facilitate dealer and collector networking and create a sense of immediacy. While dedicated to maintaining our commitment to technique and integrity, we are further refining our curatorial vision and presenting innovative galleries, lectures, and artist performances that showcase premier Modern and Contemporary work.

The LA Art Show is strategically situated at the city’s dynamic epicenter with convenient access to world-renowned LA LIVE!, home to the Grammy Awards, The Grammy Museum, and an impressive entertainment complex that includes the Nokia Theatre, the Staples Center Arena, top restaurants, and The Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residences. Patrons of the arts gladly drive to Downtown L.A. for the best in Classical Music (Disney Hall), Theater (Mark Taper and Ahmanson), and Contemporary Art (MOCA, Art District).

Our newest neighbor, the Broad Museum, opened to enthusiastic crowds, displays 2,000 works of art from The Broad Art Foundation and the Broads’ personal collections, which are among the most prominent holdings of postwar and contemporary art worldwide. Additionally, Downtown LA looks forward to The Wilshire Grand, a 73-story luxury hotel, office, and retail space. When completed in 2017, the structure will be the tallest building west of the Mississippi. The LA Convention Center is Southern California’s most technologically advanced green venue, featuring soaring ceilings and ample space, including one of the largest dedicated parking structures in the entire city and with over 15,000 spaces in the immediate vicinity!
